Gautham Karthik is an upcoming Indian film actor, working in the Tamil film industry. He made his acting debut in Mani Ratnam's Kadal (2013) as the lead actor.
Gautham Karthik was born to Tamil film actor Karthik Muthuraman and actress Ragini Karthik. He is the grandson of veteran actor R. Muthuraman. He spent his growing years in Udhagamandalam and was graduating at Christ University, Bangalore, until acclaimed film maker Mani Ratnam approached him.[2] Before that, Gautham lead a regular life away from the media and film industry. In college, he was playing in a band as lead guitarist and back-up vocalist.
Gautham is making his film debut as a lead actor in the upcoming Mani Ratnam directorial Kadal which also features Tulasi Nair, Arvind Swamy, Arjun and Lakshmi Manchu. He is playing the role of a fisherman from Rameshwaram.
