Ram Charan (born Ram Charan Teja Konidala on 27 March 1985) is an Indian film actor, entrepreneur, celebrity, and an accomplished equestrian.[1] He made his debut as an actor in the film Chirutha in the lead role which was released in September 2007.

After the release of the 2009 blockbuster Magadheera which was only his second film, Charan established himself as one of the leading contemporary actors of Tollywood. He later starred in the films Orange and Rachcha, and is starring in upcoming films Naayak, Yevadu, and Zanjeer.

Ram Charan was born on March 27, 1985 to the well-known Telugu actor Chiranjeevi and his wife Surekha. As a child,Charan grew up between Hyderabad and Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and he is fluent in Tamil too. Ram Charan has two sisters, Srija and Sushmitha
Charan got married to Upasana Kamineni, the vice-chairman of Apollo Charity and chief editor of B Positive magazine. The engagement took place in Hyderabad on December 1, 2011. Upasana is the granddaughter of Prathap C. Reddy, the Executive Chairman of the Apollo Hospitals.Subsequently, Ram Charan married Upasana Kamineni on June 14, 2012 at the Temple Tress Farm House

n 2007, Charan made his film debut as the leading man in the film Chirutha, which was directed by Puri Jagannadh. His performance in the film earned him a Filmfare Best South Debutant Award and Nandi Special Jury Award. His second film Magadheera, directed by S. S. Rajamouli went on to become a blockbuster. The film received six Filmfare Awards including the award for Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu and Nandi Special Jury Award for Charan. After the success of Magadheera, Charan starred in Bommarillu Bhaskar's Orange. Though the movie failed at the box-office, his performance and musical score by Harris Jayaraj were applauded. His latest film Rachcha took a grand opening. His movies such as Magadheera and Rachcha has been dubbed in Tamil as Maaveeran and Ragalai respectively and got good response from Tamil Nadu audience. His movie Chirutha got released as Siruthai Puli in Tamil and as Cheetah in Malayalam and both received good response.His romantic flick Orange is going to be released as Ram Charan in Tamil and Malayalam.Nayak will be released in Tamil simultaneously with the Telugu version.
As of now, Charan is working on three movies, Naayak directed by V.V. Vinayak and Yevadu directed by Vamsi Paidipally. He is set to make his Bollywood debut through Zanjeer,a remake of the film of same name starring Amitabh Bachchan
