I Deliver a Hit Every Week, says Himesh

Himesh Reshamiya has turned a full cycle. Last year, it was almost the same time when he struck gold with the catchy-n-tangy tunes of 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne'. The title song became a nationwide anthem of the youth, the taxi and auto wallas and the pride of barber shops. 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' is notable because it marked the debut of Himesh the singer-with-a-nasal-touch. 'I deliver a hit every week,' he says. True.

His music is one of the reasons behind the success of such films as 'Tom Dick and Harry', 'Aksar', '36 China Town', 'Shaadi Se Pehle', 'Chup Chup Ke' and 'Phir Hera Pheri'. Even a single in 'Humko Deewana Kar Gaye' became a rage forcing composer Anu Malik to turn red in the face.

One year down the line, every two out of four films have music by Himesh Reshamiya. His obsession (Or is it the producers) with his own voice is evident in the recent score of Zayed Khan's 'Rocky' where he has sung five out of six numbers. Having started off on his super hit journey with Aaditya Dutt's 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne', Reshamiya is back with Dutt's next 'Dil Diya Hai'. Starring Emraan Hashmi, the music is not the same any more. Yes, Himesh is tiring.

It's a case of too much too soon. Too much of supply has started eroding the demand. And then his legendary arrogance isn't earning him too many friends either. When a television journalist friend recently asked him, why does his music sound repetitive? Himesh grabbed his camera and forcibly took out the tape hurling abuses.

At present he is doing 30 to 35 films, including prestigious projects like Kamal Hasan's next and 'Ram Gopal Verma Ke Sholay'. The last notable score churned out by Himesh factory has to be 'Ahista Ahista'.

He is going on his first live show tour for two months this August where he is charging a fat sum of money. And he also happens to be charging a flat Rs 50 lakh per film for giving music. Now, before people start writing his obituary, Himesh must cut back on work and always remember that whatever goes up, must come down. His music has stopped surprising people and that's not a good sign for any creative person. Take a break Himesh'.Is what we can say. Think about it!
