'The name is Rajinikanth', the biography of superstar Rajinikanth written by Dr Gayathri Srikanth and published by 'Om Books International' was released at Hotel Taj Connemera in Chennai on March 6.
Renowned journalist cum playwright Cho Ramaswamy released the book and Soundarya Rajinikanth received the first copy. D Karthikeyan (former director of the CBI) and AVM Saravanan, the guests of the function spoke on the occasion.
Cho was lavish in his praise on Rajinikanth. He attributed his phenomenal success to his hard work and spiritual outlook. The veteran writer expressed his confidence that Rajini would provide a clean government and put Tamil Nadu on top of the chart at national level, if he becomes the ruler of the state.
Soundarya Rajinikanth, who came as a representative of her father, gave a brief speech. "It's a tribute and my dad is very happy that someone has taken this effort," said Soundarya
Dr. Gayathri Srikanth thanked everyone including the star for helping her to write this book. The book, priced at Rs 490, has 375 pages with pictures. Around 20,000 copies of the book have hit the stands.
The author has compiled many interesting information about the superstar from his childhood, his rise to the top, his spiritual bent, his rapport with co-stars like Kamal Haasan. She has also written about the possibility of Rajini's entry into politics.
The book will soon be translated into Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. There will also be a special translation for the fans of Rajini in Japan!
