Actor-producer Sanjay Suri says content is the star of his forthcoming production "Chauranga".
"When you become a producer, pressure is always there. Every producer wants a huge release. I am pitching the film in the areas where such film are watched. We don't have funds for a wider release.
"We hope wherever we go, people like it and the word-of-mouth is strong. It will purely work on merit and content is the hero of this film," Sanjay told.
Sanjay had earlier co-produced "I Am", and he has co-produced "Chauranga" along with Onir and Mohan Mulani.
Asked what prompted him to back the film, Sanjay said: "I read the script and I loved it. When I read the script, I could visualise the film and there was clarity in it. So, I decided to produce it. It took time to make, but we made it. The journey has been long but, we had fun making this film."
Directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra, "Chauranga" features Tannishtha Chatterjee apart from Sanjay and others. The film is a fictional account of six days in a dark corner of India, telling a story of violence of class oppression that still exists in rural India. The film centres around the story of a 14-year-old boy falling in love with a 16-year-old from an upper caste.
