Emraan Hashmi, who is gearing up for the release of "Ghanchakkar", his first comedy, says the film's director Raj Kumar Gupta is the biggest 'ghanchakkar'.
Co-written by Gupta and Parvez Sheikh, "Ghanchakkar" features Emraan as a forgetful Maharashtrian guy Sanjay Athray and Vidya Balan as his loud Punjabi wife Neetu.
"In this film, Raj Kumar Gupta has made us 'ghanchakkar'. Raj looks very sweet and simple, but I don't think he is. He is the biggest 'ghanchakkar'," Emraan said here in an interview.
"His (Gupta) and our writer Parvez's mind is so much twisted that the kind of script they have written, I can confidently say that when you all will watch the film, you all will become 'ghanchakkar'," he added.
So far, Emraan has played intense, negative and romantic roles on-screen, but "Ghanchakkar" is his first light-hearted drama and his favourite too.
"This character is one of my favourite characters. A guy who is not trying to be too funny, but he is inherently a huge Ghanchakkar," Emraan, who won applause for his character-driven roles in films like "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai", "The Dirty Picture" and "Ek Thi Daayan".
"Everyone in the film will make you laugh," he added.
"Ghanchakkar" hits theatres June 28.
