Hottie Rozlyn Khan has yet again stunned her audience. The Queen of sensuality and oomph has gone for a de-glam yet bold avatar for the Play 'Hatak' (The Insult) written by world renowned Saadat Hasan Manto.
For the records, Saadat Hasan Manto was amongst the greatest writers of short stories in South Asian history! His legacy continues and in the play 'Hatak' (The Insult) which was renamed as 'Sugandhi', Rozlyn essayed the role of a poor woman, Sugandhi who is forced to sell her body for a living.
This play directed by Mujeeb Khan, highlights the degradation of women. They would go for the nearest baton, if a cleaver could not be found, to bash the head of a society intent on sending its womenfolk to eke out a living by selling their charms and the physical repository of those charms.
Rozlyn has confessed that essaying the role of Sugandhi was the most difficult role of her career! And looks like her dedication and hard work paid off; for the audience present there simply loved the intense performance of Rozlyn as Sugandhi in this play!
Incidentally, there is also a biopic being made on Manto by Nandita Das in which Nawazuddin Siddiqui is essaying the title role.
