Sahara One Media and Entertainment Limited is all set to expand its bouquet of entertainment businesses. The company, fresh from the extremely successful launch of the Hindi Movie Channel FILMY, is now poised to launch yet another Cable & Satellite channel in the near future.

Sahara One's forthcoming Hindi Music channel will showcase the best of Hindi music from Bollywood films and non-film albums, along with music events, original programming, and much more.

The forthcoming Hindi Music Channel will draw upon Sahara One's strengths and experience in the General Entertainment and Movies genres of its Television business. Aditya said, "The new channel will also provide excellent synergy to the Motion Pictures business which produces several films each year, thereby creating a lot of fresh content for our television businesses. In fact, Sahara One Motion Pictures, Sahara One Television, FILMY and our Music channel will all be mutually supportive of one another and will enable us to deliver tremendous value to viewers and advertisers alike."
It will be recalled that Sahara One recently achieved an extremely successful launch of Hindi movie channel FILMY, which , within a month of its launch, achieved a reach of 40 million homes in India. In fact, FILMY's launch performance has been the best ever witnessed by any channel since January 2005. FILMY has been noticed for its innovative positioning and content, which has seen its viewership grow by 67% from Week 1 to Week 4.
The company's flagship channel, Sahara One Television, too has been going from strength to strength. Thanks to its innovative programming, the channel has seen its prime time viewership increase by 78 per cent, with a 400 percent increase in ad revenues and close to 275 advertisers on board.
Sahara One is confident that its forthcoming Hindi Music channel too will be equally well received.
