World Movies, India's only international movie channel from UTV Network, presents Martial Arts Weekend on 20th and 21st June. Martial Arts Weekend showcases Yimou Zhang's award-winning, action-packed epic blockbusters "Hero" and "House of Flying Daggers".
"Hero" starring Jet Li and Ziyi Zhang is the most expensive Chinese movie till date. The movie has won 21 awards & been nominated for 19 others. "Hero" is the first foreign language film to open at No. 1 at the US box office and was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars and the Golden Globes in 2003.
"House of Flying Daggers", an Oscar nominee, was also the official selection at Cannes Film Festival 2004. The movie has to its credit 16 prestigious awards and 33 nominations. Shot in Ukraine for its climatic fight scenes, the movie was nominated for Best Cinematography at the Oscars. This international box-office hit stars Hong Kong's most commercially successful film actor Andy Lau and Ziyi Zhang who has a string of Chinese and international hits to her name.
