Model/actor Shayan Munshi has been arrested at Kolkata airport as he was preparing to leave the country for Bangkok. He was accompanied by his father and wife Pia Rai Chaudhary, a VJ/model/actor.
As per sources, he is not supposed to leave the country since he is a key witness in the high profile murder case of Jessica Lal. Sources also say that Shayan was unaware about this condition and himself requested authorities to take him to the court so that he could set the matters straight, get adequate paperwork in place and leave the country.
Shayan was in Kolkata for the dubbing of his English, Bengali film 'The Bong Connection' that also stars Raima Sen, Victor Bannerjee and Soumitra Chatterjee amongst others. He would also be seen soon in the Hindi film 'Ahista Ahista' that stars Abhay Deol and Soha Ali Khan in the lead and is gearing up for a June/July release.
