New Delhi: With two films ' Jhankaar Beats and Home Delivery ' under his belt, filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh is now turning his eye to the upcoming genre of children's films, and is planning to make a children's movie himself.
Ghosh said that though making a movie for kids is an extremely challenging task, given the kind of high end entertainment they are exposed to nowadays, he is confident that his newest venture will capture the hearts and imaginations of youngsters and adults alike.
Talking about the movie Ghosh said: 'The next movie that I am doing is a children's movie. It is a feature film which should be appealing to adult audience as well, a proper feature, that is quite a challenging job because children today are exposed to very high end entertainment you know, whether it is cartoon, whether it is Harry potter or Narnia. To get to that technical level, to get to that polished level it is going to be quite challenging'.
As for mainstream cinema, Ghosh revealed that though his foray into the Indian film industry was a bit tough in the beginning, he had managed to settle down quite well, and was now looking forward to direct a film with a challenging screenplay.
'The journey was a little tough in the beginning because I didn't have a background in films, nor did I have an experience of assisting anyone. So, it was a little tough. I took around two years to find a producer and get a movie made but if you are keen at something, you eventually get that,' he said.
'I would love to direct a film where the screen play is challenging. My job description as a director is, to have an exiting screenplay which will keep the audiences captivated. So for me, the story should be as simple as possible. Girl falls in love, excellent, best story of all time but it is how I present the story that is what is challenging to me. It (the movie) does not have to be of a particular genre, it does not have to of a particular nature but if the screenplay is exciting, I am excited,' he added.
