The famous Telugu films (Bobby, Varsham and Chanti) director Shoban's untimely demise (at the age of 40 years) has shocked power star Puneeth Rajakumar. Shoban was supposed to take up Puneeth Rajakumar's 10th Kannada film 'Mayura' for his own story and held the muhurut for the film at ISKCON temple in Bangalore on December 14th.
The actual shooting of the film 'Mayura' was scheduled for 16th January 2008 at Mysore. Shoban died of cardiac arrest in Hyderbad on 7th January. He had seen Puneeth Rajakumar in the role of a lawyer and that happened to be the first such role for the actor. The humanity element in the film is what impressed Shoban and Puneeth Rajakumar. For keeping the title 'Mayura' Shoban was inspired from Dr.Rajakumar's yesteryears historical film 'Mayura'. If I do 10 percent of my feelings I would feel happy disclosed Shoban addressing the media on 14th December 2007.
With the demise of Shoban the key man in the family of Dr.Rajkumar ' Raghavendra Rajakumar is also depressed. Puneeth Rajakumar left for Hyderabad on Tuesday morning to give his respect to the departed soul.
Who is going to take up 'Mayura' direction now is the issue before the RS Productions banner headed by Kanakapura Srinivas and K.P.Srikanth.
