The online bookings for Kotigobba 2, which is scheduled to release this Friday(Aug 12) is open and as expected, response has been good. Trade Pundits expect the movie to get more than 150 shows in multiplexes on day 1.
Single screens have already opened their bookings and response has been good so far. However, bookings in multiplexes are expected to open later today. As per the distributors, early morning shows are confirmed in 10-15 single screens and count may increase depending on the response.
Special fans' show is planned in Prasanna Theater, Magadi Road on Thursday night and this will be the first ever show of the movie. Tickets were sold out for the special show within a few hours. Prominent members of Kotigobba 2 team are expected to be part of this show.
We hear that already 250 odd theaters have signed the agreements to play Kotigobba 2. Trade expected the count to reach 300 but looking at the response, it may touch 350 mark which will be the highest ever for a Kannada cinema in Karnataka. The movie will be played in both the screens of Veeresh, and this shows the confidence exhibitors/distributors have on the film. The long festive weekend and the number of screens might prove beneficial for the movie.
On the social media front, the movie is trending on Twitter for the past few days and this shows the buzz movie carries on social media. In times when other language movies trend in Karnataka, it's good to see Kannada movie trending for such a long duration.
