It was a slow pick up for 'Thananam Thananam'. The apprehensions are cleared now. The film is doing well at the box office informs producer N.M.Suresh and director Kavitha Lankesh. The film will do well in a minimum of six centers running to 50 days and in the main theatre it would run for 100 days says distributor Vishwanath at the media meet on Thursday evening.
'Thananam Thananam' starring Ramya, Rakshita, Sham, Girish Karnad and Bharathi Vishnuvardhana in lead roles with melodious music from Kalyan and violin bits from Dr.L.Subramanyam and his son Ambi gets the credit as the first film to release at the recently held International Film Festival. It was such a coincidence on the same day the film was released all over Karnataka. Yet another feat it achieved is screening of the film at Singapore. Before the screening a five minutes tribute to Dr.Rajkumar was shown on the screen that thrilled the Kannada fans of Singapore remembers producer N.M.Suresh who made films like 'Excuse Me, Chappale and 7 O'clock in the past.
Producer N.M.Suresh admits that had he not got the support from the media he would not have ventured in to film making. Rs.2 crores on this film project if I invest in my business I would get returns in two folds very quickly. I am here with conviction and dedication. The success seen today is because of three potential important females ' Kavitha, Ramya and Rakshita. He says he intends to do musical films in the coming years. It would be two films a year he confirms in his address.
I knew that the film will pick up slowly. The same thing happened for my film 'Preethi Prema Pranaya'. There is steady 80 percent collection for the film. It was a good experience in Singapore where the film was screened at a theatre on Orchards Street. Prakash Satyanarayana arranged for the screening of 'Thananam Thananam' and a tribute to Dr.Raj was well presented recalled Kavitha. I am working on a new concept for my next venture and it would take four months to make announcement she said.
