Manikandan Achari, the Balan Chettan from Kammattipaadam still remembers how scared he was to meet Dulquer Salmaan for the first time on the sets of the film. He had no idea how to greet the youth icon and feared how the star would react if he offered him a handshake. But to his surprise Dulquer addressed him as Balan chettan during the shoot.
At first, Achari thought that this was Dulquer’s trick to bring about an on-screen chemistry between their characters, but later he realized that his judgement was wrong when Dulquer inquired about his plays and about his family.
Achari recalls that once when Dulquer noticed that he was hesitant to sit beside him, he remarked that Achari is a person who should sit in style and not a person who should stand in Malayalam cinema. According to Achari, this was the best compliment he ever received.
