The teaser of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Kabali was released in the morning yesterday and not so unexpectedly, it has been rocking the Net. As many as one million viewers had either seen it/downloaded/shared it within an hour of its release, which is a new record for an Indian film!
Released on YouTube in the morning yesterday, the 67-second long teaser shows Rajini in his full ‘form’ and depicts him in two different get-ups. With the background rocking with voices of ‘fire’, Rajini enters the frame with his trademark stylish walk in the get-up of an ageing don. To a query as to why he became a gangster, Rajini gives his famous, extended laughter as the answer!
In another sequence, Rajini utters a lengthy punch-dialogue in his inimitable style, even referring to the name of the late villain M.N. Nambiar, with whom he has worked in a few films. This is sure to rock the audiences in theatres, like many of the sequences in the film, when it hits the screen in Jyly.
Rajini is also shown in his ‘young avatar’, resembling his youthful appearance in films such as Naan Adimai Alla and Aduththa Vaarisu. In totality, the teaser has been rocking the Net and has impressed the young and the old alike. One lakh viewed the teaser within 10 minutes of its release; the figure swelled to 10 lakhs within an hour!
