Vadivelu's much anticipated movie 'Indiralogathil Na Azhagappan' might not have fetched the expected results. But the movie, says the sources from business circles, is definitely not a flop. The first week's collection in Chennai city has touched Rs. 40 lakhs, they inform.
Manikkam Narayanan, the producer, has defended the film and its beleaguered team. He has responded to the criticism that the movie lacks comedy, by saying that the director has tried to unearth Vadivelu's hitherto unexploited dimensions in the movie. 'We had briefed Vadivelu that the movie would not portray him in his typical role. Instead, we promised him to reveal his various dimensions', says Narayanan.
It is rumoured that Narayanan has signed Vadivelu for his next venture and that the actor has accepted to make some 'adjustments' in his remuneration.
Meanwhile, some people point out that Vadivelu's movie has collected more than his competitor Goundamani's comeback movie 'Thangam', which has collected five lakhs rupees in the first week.
