Directors Seeman and Ameer can now walk free from Madurai prison. They were arrested last week for allegedly making seditious speeches at a rally in Rameswaram. The directors were granted conditional bail by the District and Sessions Judge in Ramanathapuram on Wednesday.
Judge Mayandi granted them bail on the condition that they sign at the Judicial Magistrate Court in Madurai for seven days and surrender their passports.
Initially, their bail applications were posted for hearing for October31. However, defense lawyers filed petitions for advancing the hearing. Following this, the Judge took up the applications.
It may be recalled that actor Sarath Kumar had called them at the prison on Wednesday. While talking to media persons later, he said, 'they should be released immediately'.
