It was a day to remember for the Tamilnadu Chief Minister Mr. M. Karunanidhi. He was accorded a special screening of the muilti-crore movie 'Dasavatharam' by its star Padmashree Kamal Haasan.
The Chief Minister was thoroughly impressed right from the outset and later described it as a spectacular film with extraordinary entertaining values. He went on to add that not only was the film brimming with the latest technological developments, but also was a hilarious laugh riot.
He seemed to be particularly interested in one of the ten characters played by Kamal Haasan. The character of CBI Naidu, which he termed hilarious, was exceedingly well done.
All the ten characters in the movie are so very different that it is hard to imagine it has all been portrayed by one actor. Such is the extraordinary talent of Kamal Haasan who is rightly called Ulaga Nayagan.
CM Mr. Karunanidhi called Kamal Haasan personally over the phone and congratulated him for his excellent performance and also spoke to Mr Ravikumar and praised him for his brilliant way of direction. It is Ravikumar's handling of the subject that has brought about the hilarious element in the film.
Normally, the Chief Minister watches the special screenings of big films alone or with family members. He watched 'Dasavatharam' not only with his family but along with about fifteen ministers. All of them were thoroughly impressed and the same kind of satisfaction can be expected from general audiences too once the movie releases on the 13th of this month.
The Chief Minister is also of the opinion that 'Dasavatharam' would go to be a landmark movie in the history of world cinema. This movie made with the standards of an epic, has its head and shoulders well above the rest with Kamal Haasan's passionate performances, K. S. Ravikumar's skill at direction, superior technological techniques and an entertaining time-traveling story that is hilarious and well done.
