Media Magnate Nari Hira's 'Bhram' slated to be released on March 14 has actress Deepshika, apparently playing a role closely based on the life of columnist Shobha De.
In fact Shobha De' was a prot©g© of Nari Hira, who gave her a break as the editor of the film magazine Stardust. Shobha De had become famous by writing about the stars and their personal lives.
The look and dressing style of Deepshika is completely based on Shobhaa De's look and personality, even to fine details of Shobha's trademark silk and chiffon saree look, bindis, funky junk jewellery et al.
The character of Deepshikha in the film is called Sunita who is a Page 3 journalist by profession, and thrives on writing spicy news of the rich and famous. She is perpetually on the lookout for controversies. She is all out to expose Milind Soman, who plays an investment banker, and destroy his reputation.
In fact sources say that Bhavna Iyer, who has written the story of Bhram, was also the editor of Stardust and therefore was in the know-how of the in and out of spicy journalism.
Deepshikha did not mind her character to be based on Shobhaa De. According to her, "I am playing the character of a good looking but nosey page 3 journalist who is on the lookout for scoops and scandals. The character is stylish with classy sarees and funky jewellery. But the character is very bitchy."
'Bhram' is a thriller movie directed by Pawan Kaul. The film stars starring Milind Soman, Dino Morea, Sheetal Menon and Simone Singh.
