Whatever actor Vishal does is being misinterpreted and reported these days. Recently he sat in protest against the mass culling of stray dogs by the Kerala Government and he was being painted as ‘anti-Kerala’. He was the first to render the financial aid to the ailing senior actress and singer ‘Paravai Muniyamma and that is being interpreted as his bid to gain her vote in the upcoming election for the Nadigar Sangam.
Vishal is really perturbed by these misconceptions being spread by the media and that was evident in his speech in the audio release function of ‘Paayum Puli’ which will be his next film to hit the screens
"I am not going to speak in detail about ‘Paayum Puli’. We did not give the customary bouquet of flowers to the honorable guests. I suggested that we can save that money and donate it for education of poor girl students and the producer accepted. Flowers will wither. Supporting education will guide one’s life. This should not be interpreted as I am against bouquet manufacturers/sellers. Because whatever I speak is twisted as politics.
I spoke against the killing of dogs and that people politicized that. I spoke against cattle being tortured and sent to Kerala. For that also I was criticized. They went on to say that I am spearheading ‘Boycott Kerala’ campaign. I am not against Kerala. I am no enemy to anyone.
This dias is decorated by remarkable achievers and big shots from Kollywood. Vairamuthu sir was the first person to appreciate me after the release of my debut film ‘Chellamey’. His appreciations boosted my hopes. I will never forget that. Such well-wishers and friends are my asset. I am nobody without them.
Cinema is my profession. Cinema is like my mother. If it gets affected I will be the first person to react. That’s how I protested against the pirated cds. There are no political promotional motives behind that. Cinema will be good if everyone thinks like me.
I thank everyone who graced the ‘Paayum Puli’ audio function".
‘Paayum Puli’ produced by Vendhar Movies banner has been directed by Suseenthiran and has Kajal Aggarwal pairing up with Vishal for the first time. Music has been scored by D.Imman. The film is expected to hit the screens in September.
