It is well known fact that young directors Bala and Amir were good friends and that they parted ways following some serious difference of opinion between the two. The less known event in the episode is something pertaining to comedian Karunas.
Karunas, who has deep respect for his mentor Bala, got hurt when Amir wrote an article criticizing Bala in a leading magazine. He then severed his ties with Amir and decided not to have any contact with him in future. He stuck to the decision even when he got an offer to act in 'Paruthi Veeran'.
Bala, as a sign of gratitude to such a loyalty, is planning to make Karunas as the lead actor in a film produced by him. It is said that the erstwhile Kollywood queen Simran has accepted to act opposite Karunas. The film revolves around the predicament of 'ugly husband ' beautiful wife' couple.
Though putting Karunas as hero might be seen as a risk, Bala is raring to go unmindful of the results. Such is the power of his sense of gratitude.
