Actor-director Cheran set a new trend in Tamil cinema with 'Autograph'. The movie had a major portion set in the late 1980s.
Taking a cue from Cheran, director Sasikumar churned out 'Subramaniapuram', which was set in the 1980s. The retro classic went on to become a big hit and won accolades from just about everyone.
Now Cheran is back to his old ways. Buzz is that his 'Pokkisham' too is a retro classic. The movie is apparently set in the early 1970s. Cheran and his team are reportedly collecting antiques and busy erecting sets resembling the period.
Major portions of the movie would be shot in Kolkata and Pollachi. Produced by Hithesh Jhabhak and V Jhabhak, 'Pokkisham' features Cheran and Padmapriya in lead roles and has musical score by Sabesh Murali.
