'Tamil cinema is going through a transformation stage', says Prithviraj.
The actor is shooting for 'Ninaithale Inikkum', a remake of his Malayalam hit 'Classmates'. Speaking at the sets, he said 'Tamil cinema is hale and healthy now. It has entered a new stage where more and more new talents are emerging and innovative themes are being tried out. Technology has taken the front seat'.
Happy at his success in Tamil, he says, 'it is the result of my hard work and the blessings of my elders. I am listening to a number of scripts and am very careful about choosing the right one with care'.
On Malayalam industry, he said, 'they are looking at the Tamil film industry with awe now. The innovations here have floored them. The influence of Tamil cinema in contemporary Malayalam industry cannot be denied'.
Prithiviraj has had a steady rise in Tamil films. Introduced as a villain in 'Kana Kandaen', he then went on to star in movies that had good storylines. 'Mozhi' changed his fortunes for the better and the actor will now be seen in Mani Ratnam's forthcoming movie and will be featured as a character with negative traits.
