Pulimurugan, which stars Mohanlal, Kamalini Mukherjee and Jagapati Babu released on 7th October 2016. The film opened to a massive response from the Malayalam audience, collecting 4.05 crores on the first day, which had made it the highest opening day collection for a Malayalam film.
Still running in theatres, Pulimurugan has gone on to collect over 120 crores, thereby becoming the first Malayalam film to enter the 100 crores club. On 2nd December, the film's Telugu dubbed version, Manyam Puli was released and its reception has also been very good. The film stars Jagapati Babu, who is a star in Tollywood and his inclusion has definitely helped Manyam Puli.
The initial collection reports of the Manyam Puli have proved that the film can repeat the magic of Pulimurugan. The action-choreographer, Peter Hein has received a lot of appreciation for his stunts and Mohanlal for his performance. Music composer Gopi Sunder too, has received great appreciation for his background score. The film has released in over 350 screens and has received a tremendous response.
