T. Rajendar a.k.a. Vijaya T. Rajendhar (TR) stormed the film industry in the late seventies with the ever-green romantic hit ‘Oru Thalai Ragam’, which ran to packed houses for more than an year. The talented TR not only directed the film but also took care of the story, screenplay, dialogues, editing, cinematography and lyric writing besides scoring music for the film.
TR continued with his own unique brand of moves well into the nineties and hardly made any effort to deviate from his style of film-making to suit the needs of the changing times. Even after his own son Silambarasan proved his mettle as an actor with substance, TR’s passion for film-making doesn’t appear to have diminished.
TR’s latest offering is ‘Oru Thalai Raagam’ in which he again takes on the multi-fold responsibilities of story-dialogue-screenplay writing, lyric writing besides playing the lead role – make no mistake about it – opposite Mumtaz, his muse! The shock element hasn’t stopped as TR is planning a ‘six-pack-abs’ for his fat physique and is pumping it out regularly at the nearest gym everyday.
