Indian Cinema has always been obsessed to shoot films abroad. Even if the story needs to be shot in India, some filmmakers make it a point to shoot song sequences abroad.
The usual European destinations have become familiar with audiences and so new locales are being discovered regularly.
Several Tamil movies had been canned abroad, like 'Unnale Unnale', 'Billa' and many more. 'Billa' was shot entirely in Malaysia while 'Unnale Unnale' had majority of its scenes in Australia.
It is now the turn of actors Suriya, Vikram, Vijay and Prasanna to try their luck in foreign locations.
Suriya's 'Ayan' would be shot in Zanzibar, while Vijay will fly to Italy to shoot for 'Villu' and Vikram will pack his bags to Mexico for 'Kanthaswamy'. 'Ayan', directed by K V Anand features Suriya and Tamanna together. It is produced by AVM.
'Villu', directed by Prabhudeva, features Nayantara opposite Vijay. A major portion of the movie will be shot in Italy.
Susi Ganesan's 'Kanthaswamy' starring Vikram and Shreya will be canned in Mexico. The crew is planning to shoot a couple of stunt sequence and songs in this foreign land.
Prasanna's 'Achchamundu Achchamundu' is shot entirely in the United States and also stars Sneha.
