Ajith has changed his decision not to act in A.M. Rathnam's films. The buzz is that Shankar - Ajith combination will be produced by none other than Rathnam under the banner of Surya Movies.
It may be recalled that following Shah Rukh Khan's withdrawal from Shankar's dream project 'Robot', it was said that Ajith would play the lead role. Though the official announcement is yet to be made, it is almost certain since neither Shankar nor Ajith has denied the news.
Rathnam is aiming to get rid of the financial burden through the announcement of this mega project. If the news is confirmed, it would be a token of gratitude by Shankar to Rathnam, who produced his Indian.
By the way, for those who would be curious to know what made Ajith to take such a decision - not to act in Rathnam's production ' here is a flashback: Ajith stood by the employees during a clash between the producers & directors and Fefsi (Film Employees Federation of South India) during June-July 1997. Rathnam was irked by Ajith's stand and demanded him to give back the advance amount given to him for a project. Ajith immediately returned the amount and took a decision not to act in Rathnam's film in future.
Now a decade has gone by and a truce has been made between the two. The announcement of the project involving Shankar, Ajith, and Rathnam is expected to be made on Pongal.
