Kai Vantha Kalai Review
by MyMazaa.comAfter a brief interval, actor-director Pandiarajan makes his comeback with Kai Vandha Kalai. Supposedly a sequel to his yesteryear hit Aan Pavam, Pandiarajan has thrown out a simple and a straight forward film without many twists and turns that€™s worth a watch. Amidst all action-packed films of the day, Kai Vandhai Kalai is a movie with a simple narration and little characters.
The story centers on a careless father (Manivannan) and his son Kannan (Prithvi). Manivannan earns his livelihood cheating the villagers and takes the help of his son in all his wrong deeds.
Kannan falls in love with the a school-girl Kausalya (Sruthi) €”daughter of Pandian and Seetha, the lead pair of Aan Paavam. Kannan is made to realize the importance of leading a honest life by Kausalya.
Determined to keep up his promise to her, Kannan leaves for Chennai and stays with his uncle Pandiarajan, who is an undertaker. He gives coffins on hire. The rest is about how Kannan with the help of his uncle reforms his father and also convinces Kausalya€™s parents and win their hearts.
As usual Pandiarajan evokes laughter with his witty dialogues. Prithvi, Panidarajan€™s son, making his debut, does a convincing job and has his father€™s mannerisms.
The rest including Sruthi, Seetha and Pandian too have given their best try. Pandiarajan has intelligently used the locations where the lovers meet from Aan Paavam in Kai Vantha Kalai too.
Dheena€™s music is quite ordinary. Produced by G V Films, Kai Vandha kalai is a movie sure to appeal to the rural folks and comedy lovers.
