'Baahubali-The Conclusion' has pulled off a blockbuster deal. In what is touted as the biggest selling rights price that a Tollywood product has ever got in a single deal, the theatrical release rights of the movie's four versions (Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam) have been bought by Great India Films for an astronomical Rs. 45 cr.
This is just for the US and Canada markets. For the film to break-even, it will have to mop up 20-30 per cent more than the first edition.Sudhakar Reddy K of GIF has been quoted as saying that the deal went through because of Prabhas' involvement. The rights had earlier been bagged by K-Entertainments. GIF was associated with the first edition by way of releasing it in select areas in the Indian market. The company had previously distributed big-ticket flicks like 'Pokiri', 'Adhurs', 'Kick', 'Run Raja Run', 'Temper', 'Baadshah' and 'Mirchi'.
