Carrying the burden of huge expectations, Naga Chaitanya's latest film 'Premam' is all set to hit screens on October 7.The romantic drama is the official Telugu remake of the Malayalam blockbuster of the same name. Ever since the Telugu remake went on floors, movie lovers, who had already seen the original 'Premam', started the inevitable comparison game. The selection of Naga Chaitanya to reprise the role of Nivin Pauly was appreciated as he perfectly suits the character.
A few however opined that Sharwanand or Nani would have been a great choice. When Shruti Haasan was roped in to reprise the role of charming Sai Pallavi, an unprecedented backlash was witnessed from 'Premam' fans. They opined that Shruti can't recreate the magic of Pallavi but the intention of makers was to attract the attention of trade and audience who have not seen the original, and they succeeded to a large extent. Madonna and Anupama were retained.
The music and flavour were also retained to satisfy the fans of original Premam. The promos have been designed well and there is positive buzz all over for Telugu Premam. A huge release has also been planned considering the buzz for the romantic drama.
Makers are confident that Telugu audiences will surely like the freshness of Premam but how the fans of original receive this remake is a big question.
