It seems that Ram Charan is trying very hard to place his father megastar Chiranjeevi's landmark comeback film 'Khaidi No.150' in record books by making it beat 'Baahubali' in terms of pre-release business.
Sometime back it was reported that the overseas rights of Khaidi No.150 were acquired for a higher price than that of Baahubali's. Now, as per latest reports, the Vizag distribution rights of megastar's film have been acquired for an All Time record price of Rs 7.70 crores. It may be noted that 'Baahubali' rights of this area were sold for Rs 7.20 Cr only.
Not just this area, the Guntur distribution rights are also being quoted Rs 6.50 Cr, another record price and the deal is said to be almost finalized. It is heard that while the total Andhra business of Baahubali was Rs 30 crore, Khaidi is making deals worth Rs 32 Cr.
The prices for which 'Khaidi No.150' is being bought are insane but more than the logic, the distributors seem to be bank on the mammoth fan base of megastar. This might prove to be a costly mistake if the film receives even slight negative talk. One should not forget the example of 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh' which did almost the same business as of Baahubali.
