Ramyakrishnan was born in a traditional Tamil Brahmin family on September 15, 1970. At that time, nobody would have expected that she would become a big film star, who plays heroine in 11 Kannada, 11 Malayalam, 7 Hindi and 143 Telugu films and earn national and international recognition, name and fame.
Ramyakrishna became an dance exponent and learnt Bharata Natyam and Kuchipudi dance forms. While she was in Class VIII, i.e., when she was just 15, she got an opportunity to play heroine in 'Vellai Manasu', a Tamil film, opposite YG Mahendran.
Her debut film in Telugu is 'Bhale Mitrulu'. She became very famous with her role in 'Sutradharulu' directed by Kala Tapaswi, K Viswanath in 1987 and earned a good recognition that she could perform excellently.
It is worth mentioning here that Ramyakrishna was the niece of popular Tamil artiste 'Cho Ramaswamy'. Though she earned recognition as an actor and artiste in Telugu, she became a star after acting in a film directed by K Raghavendra Rao.
She played opposite several top heroes of the past and present generation including Akkineni Nageswara Rao, NT Rama Rao, Krishna, Sobhanbabu, Mega Star Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Jagapatibabu and so on.
She got several positive and good compliments for her roles in films like 'Aahwanam, Maavidakulu, Alludugaru, Allari Priyudu, Ammoru, Annamayya, Criminal, Kshemamgaa Velli Laabhamgaa Randi, Hello Brother, Mugguru Monagallu, Alluda Majaakaa, Bangaru Bullodu, Major Chandrakanth, Sammakka Sarakka, Gharana Bullodu, Narasimha, Aavide Shyamala and so on''.
Ramyakrishna bagged special jury award for her performance in 'Kante Kuturne Kanu', besides two State government's Nandi Awards.
Even as she was in full swing as heroine, popular director Krishnavamsi married her on June 12, 2003. Ramyakrishna gave birth to Rithwik on February 13, 2005.
Presently she is anchoring a special programme called 'Jara Masti Jara Dhoom' in a popular TV channel.
Born in Tamil house, she earned good name, fame and money in Telugu and became the daughter-in-law for a Telugu, Ramyakrishna played in more than 200 films in five languages in her 22-year-old film career.
