Dussehra season always used to the biggest season for Telugu Films after Sankranthi and Summer season. Many big stars used to ready their films for Sankranthi and Dussehra over the years. If they missed Dussehra, they released movies by Diwali.
This season of festivals is when all Telugu people are more than interested in enjoying at the theatres with family members. But lately, with bigger stakes, only one or two films have been releasing during the season from past few seasons and this time with no big hero film for release many medium budgeted films are releasing to cash in the holiday season.
Firstly, the most awaited film of the lot, Premam, the remake of highly acclaimed Malayalam film with same title. Naga Chaitanya is facing a career low with his previous film DohChay being a disaster at the box office and immediate next with his classical love story, Ye Maaya Chesave director, Gautam Vasudev Menon, Sahasam Swasaga Saagipo is still not sure about when it will see the light. Premam is his latest hope to revive his image and hit the bulls eye. The film produced by A.Aa.. producer, and directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Kartikeya fame has been billed at a budget of 20crs and it is highly crucial for all the cast and crew to emerge victorious in a crowded release.
Films like ISM which might release or not during the season with Kalyanram and Puri combination is coming with a price tag of 20 crs. With it the sure to release films, Abhinetri, Horror comedy trilingual with Prabhu deva playing the lead character after a being the director predominantly for many years, alongside Sonu Sood and Tamannah, also coated 20crs for the producers.
Sunil ‘s struggle for good solid hit and his another dart at the goal with Veeru Potla, Eedu Gold Ehe, is coming during the season with 15 crs at stake. Prakash Raj’s directorial Mana Oori Ramayanam priced at 3crs is also looking to make it in the crowd.
The highest priced and most interesting film debut of the season, is Jaguar, starring the famous politician HD Kumar swamy ‘s son and former Prime Minister HD Deva Gouda grandson, Nikhil Kumar. Billed at 75 crs for a high profile debut, the film has certainly caught the imagination and attention of the trade but will it be able to grab the love of audience?
Well, we have to see how many of these films, will really hit the screens and capture the Dussehra box office this year!
