Film Federation of India has narrowed its choice to nine films which were selected among the movies made in different Indian languages. The selection took place to choose the best among the lot and to send these movies to represent India for the 81st Oscar awards, under the category of Foreign Movies. On 18th of this month, FFI screened movies from different Indian languages, so as to pick out the nine best among them. Interestingly, 'Gamyam' is only South Indian film among the list that has made it to the Oscars.
Other entries were Taare Zameen Par (Hindi), Valu (Marathi), Tingya (Marathi), Mumbai Meri Jaan (Hindi), A Wednesday (Hindi), Jodhaa Akbar (Hindi), Rock On! (Hindi), Black and White (Hindi).
Gamyam (meaning Destination) is directed by debutant Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi AKA Krish. The film stars 'Allari' Naresh, Sharwanand and Kamalinee Mukherjee in the prominent roles. The film received rave reviews from the audiences and the critics alike. The movie reaped success and became a phenomenal hit.

Elated about the news the director said, "I am feeling proud to know that FFI has selected 'Gamyam' as one among the entries, to be represented in the Oscar award from India." He added that, "Initially, the movie was released in a small scale which continued to be in screening for 150 days at Venkateswara Theater, Vizag. Consequently, it was screened for 130 days in Shashikala theatre, Vijayawada. He also said that their 'Gamyam' was acclaimed equally by audience and the critics. The selection of this film by the Film federation has elevated their enthusiasm and makes them feel esteemed.
Speaking about his feature endeavors, he said, " 'Gamyam' was made with a backdrop woven on the plot of human relations. Our latest film 'Krishnam Vande Jagathgurum' starring Venkatesh, is planned to be made on an innovative plot line. The movie will stand near expectations, made to cater the anticipated combination of Versatile actor Venkatesh & 'Gamyam' Krish. We are planning to start the film in the 3rd week of October."
