Nagarjuna hasn't had a great start to his film career and that was when he struggled the most to have an identity of his own. Every director who worked with him literally made him to emulate Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna who were already big stars by that time. It was only after he was made to play second fiddle to Sridevi in 'Akhari Poratam', Nag realized he is heading in a wrong direction and decided to go ahead believing in his strengths.
After watching 'Mouna Ragam', Nagarjuna came in touch with Mani Ratnam and expressed his desire to work with Mani Ratnam. That's how Geethanjali happened and this decision changed his life for ever. Nag found a style of his own and Filmmaker began believing he is here to leave a mark of his own.
Not a surprise, Nag admits he was disappointed with the debacle of Akhil's launch pad and couldn't come out of the shock for a week. He still feel no one could exactly tell why a film flopped and quotes 'Chandralekha' as an example. All he would advise his sons is to choose the films that suit their sensibilities.
