After stepping in Hyderabad yesterday to a rousing welcome and felicitation by the Telangana government, Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu and her coach Gopichand today visited Vijayawada to yet another grand welcome by the Andhra Pradesh government.
On Sunday, AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu telephoned Sindhu's parents and invited them for the closing ceremony of Krishna Pushkaralu and even announced a cash prize of Rs 3 crores, land and a government job to Sindhu.
This morning, after Sindhu landed at Gannavaram Airport and reached the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Chandrababu Naidu greeted her and appreciated her achievements. Not stopping here, Babu also played badminton with Sindhu on the felicitation stage and Sindhu showed her class again and beat the AP CM.
Sindhu, Gopichand and Sindhu's sister, who are welcomed by the AP leaders and thousands of sports lovers and school students, are expected to grace the Krishnamma Harathi ritual and take the holy dip in the Krishna River later in the evening.
