While we are awaiting the release of visual stunner Shivaay from Ajay Devgan, the actor is back with his production venture Parched, one of the most-acclaimed Bollywood on international arena. The trailer of Parched, which promises to be a realistic village drama, hits YouTube. Starring four actresses Tannishtha Chatterjee, Surveen Chawla, Lehar Khan and Radhika Apte in lead roles, the film has a derivative story of old-age traditions, some ruthless characters in a village.
Besides getting premiered at more than 24 International film festivals, including Toronto Film Festival, Parched won as many as 18 global awards for its content and the way it is depicted. Thematically, the style of the film feels close to Gangs of Wasseypur but the content we get to see in trailer is different. The story of the film is all about four women who tries to escape the age-ridiculed society of child marriages, alcoholic husbands and financial difficulties.
Slated to release to release on 23rd September, Parched deals with some extremely interesting subjects and it would be no surprise if it manages to come out as winner. The film’s director Leena Yadav had many TV shows and couple of Bollywood films to her credit and she’s got plenty of things to rave about. The presence of Radhika Apte makes ‘Parched’ a most exciting film to look forward.
