When the film released in April, critics and even moviegoers gave Sarrainodu a thumbs down for its lackluster story and ultra high dose of mass action elements. Witnessing the initial backlash, many thought that Sarrainodu won't sustain as the box-offices for long and that the film will end up as a flop venture for Allu Aravind and its buyers.
However, Sarrainodu pulled off a historical surprise and went on to become a highest ever grosser in Allu Arjun's career. The success storm of this Boyapati Sreenu's directorial was such that it even broke several non Baahubali records in a few centers.
Finally, Sarrainodu's grand theatrical run has come its end and the collections the film has managed to rake in got everyone shell shocked. Sarrainodu has collected a whopping 76 crore worldwide share including the Malayalam version. The overall gross according to the trade reports 127 crores.
In the twin Telugu states alone, Sarrainodu has notched up a cool 61 crore share with a 97 crore gross. 19.5 crores in Nizam, 8.2 crores in Uttarandhra, 10.9 crores in Ceded, 7.3 crores in Karnataka and another 2.8 crores is Kerala and 3 crore share in the US are the area wise break up of Sarrainodu's collections.
With this, Sarrainodu occupied the 4th spot in Tollywood's history aspiring highest grossers, next only to Baahubali, Srimanthudu and Magadheera including all versions. In Telugu alone, the film stood in the 5th place, smashing all the non Baahubali records in Kerala, Vizag and West Godavari.
