Nothing hasn't been able to beggar Bicchagadu. Not even Brahmotsavam. As we reported last week, the Telugu version had been performing quite well at the BO. This humble release had had an increase in the number of theatres. What has its BO performance been like over the last week? Well, it's sway has only increased. Guess what, the multiplexes which were not willing to exhibit the movie when it first hit the screens are now seeing potential in it. In Hyderabad, it has surprisingly debuted in a multiplex. This is no mean achievement for a film having not a single familiar face, a dubbed film at that!
The fact that this film with plenty of emotional and sentimental content has to compete with many big films and still excel speaks volume about the intensity of the success. It is worth noting that the film released in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana only a week before the biggie Mahesh Babu starrer 'Brahmotsavam'.
"I owe this success to my Director Sasi sir and my distributor Lakshman. His courage on releasing this film against a massive film, pinning hopes on the content has been the biggest plus factor. I’m indeed excited to be termed as a hero who can command commercial respect in two languages at the same time. I was told that it is a rare occasion for a Tamil hero to be accepted in this region of the country. With a proper script, execution and plan on the release I’m confident that all my future films will have a great visibility here in the Telugu film industry. This effort will enhance my commercial reputation as a star in south," Vijay Antony said.
