One of the well-known fight masters of South India Vikram Dharma has expired in Chennai on Wednesday. He died on the way to hospital, following chest pain. His age was 50. His father Nambiar worked as a stunt master to famous Tamil hero MGR.
Having taken training in Judo, Dharma made his debut in the film 'Vikram' both as a Villain and stunt master. The film starred Kamal Haasan and Dimple Kapadia. His real name is Dharma. He changed his name to Vikram Dharma after the success of the film 'Vikram'.
He worked in all the South Indian languages, including Hindi. For, approximately 300 films he was the fight master. He was the one who composed fights for all the films of Kamal Haasan.
'Guru' directed by Mani Rathnam was his last film. Previously, he worked with Mani Rathnam for films like 'Yuva' and 'Amrutha'.
In Telugu, mostly he worked for films starring Balakrishna. The chase sequences in 'Samarasimhareddy', 'Narasimhanaidu' and the fights in 'Indra' have got him good name. Kamal Haasan and others paid rich tributes to the departed soul.
The cremation will take place on Thursday afternoon. Fight Masters Association Vijayan said, '?ÂÂ?We have lost a good fight master and South Indian Film Industry will miss him entirely. He has worked with all types of directors and has composed fights for all categories of films'?ÂÂ.
