You must have heard a friend/relative of yours say that in spite of the fact that 'Baahubali-The Beginning' has been sweeping many award ceremonies this year, Prabhas has been unlucky when it comes to being conferred the Best Actor Award. If the Filmfare went to Mahesh Babu for his 'Srimanthudu' act, others have seen NTR and Allu Arjun walk away with laurels for their performance in 'Temper' and 'Rudrama Devi', respectively.
It's not like the Rajamouli magnum opus has been fetching awards only to its talented technicians. Rana Daggubati, for example, has been the envy of many at award functions. (Remember that Rana and Allu Arjun are known to have the most strategic PR teams in the industry).
While Prabhas' fans are justifiably proud of their favourite star's classic, they are naturally disappointed that awards haven't been his.
In this context, an English-language daily has reasoned that this must be due to the fact that Prabhas lacks a strategic PR personnel/team. The writer says in the piece that the hunk needs a good PR team to win awards. Those in the know of the things will tell you this is most probably true. Award functions nowadays are about giving the award to only those stars who accept their invite to make it to the event. One can predict who is going to be the winner by looking at the faces who have turned up for the event. The fact that Prabhas has allegedly refused to make it to award events has only meant that he is not a Best Actor awardee!
That said, one may say that Baahubali's gain is Prabhas' loss. Award after award has been this magnum opus' in various categories - ranging from Best Film, Best Director, Best Visual Effects, Best Art Director, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Supporting Actor/Actress, Best Action Choreographer, so on and so forth. In this scenario, giving one more award, that too one belonging to the most popular category to this film, would bore the viewers.
Whatever it is, Prabhas' act in the second and final edition will be hugely awaited by his fans and the audience in general. If Prabhas were to be asked about his opinion on not winning awards, he might just say his team's success is his. Wouldn't that make his fans proud?
