Badshah of Bollywood is the king of IIFA

Two of Shah Rukh Khan's super hit films ruled this year's IIFA awards at Bangkok.

'Chak De India' the film of the Indian women's hockey team who starts off as the underdogs in the Hockey world championship eventually going on to win the cup inspired by the coach played by the Shah Rukh bagged the awards for the best actor, best director, best cinematography, best story, and shared the award for the best screen play.

Shah Rukh Khan won the best actor award, Shimit Amin got the award for the best director and Jaideep Sahni was chosen as the best story writer.

Jaideep also shared the best screenplay award for 'Chak De India' with Anurag Basu who was considered for the film 'Life in a Metro'.

Sudeep Chaterjee won the best cinematographer award for his spectacular visuals of 'Chak De India'.

The award for the best make up also went to 'Chak De India'.

Another one of Shah Rukh's blockbuster movie 'Om Shanti Om' took home most of the technical awards.

The best special effects awards went to Shah Rukh's own company Red Chillies Entertainment.

Sabu Cyril took home the best art direction award and the award for the best costume design went to Manish Malhotra, Karan Johar and Sanjeev Mulchandani who did the duties of designing the costumes for 'Om Shanti Om'.

The top prize for the lyrics went to the veteran Javed Akthar for his words for the songs in 'Om Shati Om'.

'Shootout at Lokhandwala' proved to be second time lucky for Vivek Oberoi when he bagged the award for the best performance in a negative role.

The film became a super hit at a time when none of Vivek's films were getting successful at the box office.

Govinda who can be really given the title of a lead actor with the best of timing in doing a comedy role got the award for the best performance in a comic role for the film 'Partner'.

The award for the best dialogue writer went to Imtiaz Ali for 'Jab We Met' directed by himself.

The awards night was hosted by Boman Irani, Ritesh Deshmukh, Karan Johar and Urmila Matondkar.

The film 'Guru' directed by Mani Rathnam walked away with four awards.

The Mozart of Asia A.R.Rahman was honoured with an award for outstanding achievement by an Indian in International cinema and also won the best music director and the best background score for the film 'Guru' directed by Mani Rathnam.

Shreya Ghosal was selected as the best female playback singer for the song 'Barso re' and H.Sridhar for the best sound recording for 'Guru'.

Shaan got the award for the best male playback singer for the song "Jab se tere naina" from the film 'Saawariya'.

Shyam Benegal and yesteryear Bollywood heroine Mumtaz were honoured with the lifetime achievement awards while Akshay Kumar won a special award from the host country of Thailand.

Hero of 'Johny Gaddar' Neil Nithin Mukesh got the award for the fresh face of the year.
