Madhavan had a tremendous opening to the cinema world with Mani Ratnam's 'Alaipayuthe'. Many super hits followed and he had become an actor with star value. But then off late, his recent films have not done so very well and the actor is pining big on the soon to be released 'Guru En Aalu' which is the remake of the Hindi film 'Yes Boss'.
Madhavan had recently said that with the advent of many acting schools, it is easy to become an actor. But then when one gets to become a star, it is really tough to maintain the status. 'There is no school to teach one that' said the actor.
Madhavan also declared that he is currently working in more Hindi films than in Tamil. 'I love to act in Tamil films, but then Hindi filmmakers make movies that delve into a variety of themes as against Tamil filmmakers. I am a person who would not like to have many similarities among my films. The more diverse the better.
When asked if he spends more time in Mumbai than in Chennai these days, the actor quipped, 'I spend more time in airports'.
