'Mumbai Meri Jaan' to be set free on August 22

The time cannot be riper for this film to hit the cinema halls.

The core subject of the movie is based on the Mumbai serial train blasts of July 11, 2006.

When the country is yet to come in terms with the recent back to back multiple bomb blasts in two major cities, the message that 'Mumbai Meri Jaan' tries to put across will gain more significance.

The film directed by Nishikant Kamat and produced by Ronnie Screwala for UTV Motion Pictures will be released on August 22.

Nishikant is the same man who called the shots for the fabulous film 'Dombivli Fast'.

Paresh Rawal plays one of the important characters of the film.

We have seen this versatile actor play all kinds of roles with maximum perfection in the past.

In this movie he will be for the first time appearing with a moustache which he grew just for the role of a police officer on the verge of retirement.

To give the character the look which the director wanted, Paresh Rawal even went on to loose 15 kilos and will be looking much thinner.

The unpleasant days after the serial bomb blasts ripped through the city of dreams and the impact it had on the life of different people coming from different backgrounds forms the story.

An aggressive reporter, a patriotic corporate man, a retiring policeman, a rookie cop, an unemployed youth and a coffee-vendor are the leading characters.

How the bomb blasts makes significant changes in all these characters lives and how they cope up with the consequences that sometimes brings the best and sometimes the worst in them are shown in the film.

R.Madhavan, Soha Ali Khan, Irrfan Khan and K.K.Menon play some of the characters.

The cinematography is by Sanjay Jadhav, story, dialogue and lyrics are by Yogesh Vinayak Joshi, Amit Pawar is the editor and the music has been scored by Sameer Phaterpekar.

Watch out for this realistic story of ordinary people set in one extraordinary circumstance.
