"If the music of METRO would have failed, it would have translated into rejection of rock genre", says composer Pritam who now has yet another success to his name with the music of METRO raising up in the charts.
"I was apprehensive about the music; in fact I was never too sure about it since rock is still in it's infancy stage in India", confesses Pritam, "In fact even when composing for it, I was left wondering if we actually took a right step in trying to do something so out of the box and unconventional by placing a rock band within the film."
And how does he feel now? "Of course it's a high for all of us associated with the music of METRO. Success of the film's music is success of the rock genre. I was confident about the music; though not as much about its acceptance or rejection. But the way music has been performing so well all over in spite of promotion still waiting to heat up, it only gives me a chance to continue experimenting with my work and keep throwing surprises."
Now he also appears in the music videos of the songs. 'That was always the idea', he says promptly, 'The band would continue to play throughout the film at important junctures. Each of the 6 tracks has a place for it in the film while we are coming up with full length music videos of at least 3 of them'.
Which are they? 'One is for 'Alvida' while the other is for the number 'In Dino'. Work on the third is still in progress,' he divulges before signing off.
