'Bas Ek Pal' may have been a disappointment at the box office but it has worked maximum for the composer of the film - Mithoon. Now that's a little ironic since Mithoon was not even the prime composer for the film [it was Viveck Philip instead] and he was roped in mainly as a guest composer for the two songs, out of which one, 'Tere Bin' by Atif, became super hit.
The album is still maintaining wonderful sales all over and while basking in the glory of the success, Mithoon is all geared up for the release of his next soundtrack for the film 'Anwar'. About the music, he says, "It is far away from the kind that I have composed for 'Bas Ek Pal'. Manish Jha, the director of 'Anwar', is again so different in his treatment of the situation and accordingly I had to mould my music to suit his needs. I have seen a 4 minute promo of the film and I am proud to be associated with 'Anwar' since its entire look and texture is so interesting."
'Anwar' stars Siddharth Koirala and Naudeed Cyrusi in the lead along with Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz, Yashpal Sharma and Hiten Tejwani. Pankaj Awasthi also composes for the film apart from Mithoon.
After 'Anwar', Mithoon would also be heard in Raksha Mistry-Hasnain Hyderabadwala directed 'Train', the shooting for which is currently in progress at Bangkok. Apart from this, he is also working on a private album with Atif, the sensation behind 'Tere Bin', for TIPS.
He also some international assignments in hands, most notably being music for a Malaysian film titled DIVA where he has composed 5 songs in Malay language. Loloq, who is the number one lyricist of Malaysian movies, has written the lyrics. Mithoon says, "This is the first time ever that a musical collaboration of this kind has happened between India and Malaysia. I am quite excited about this project since I would also be doing the background music for the film."
