The recent firing incident at filmmaker-social activist Mahesh Bhatt's office continues to make headlines. Advertising Guru Alyque Padamsee and noted criminal lawyer Majeed Memon have urged President A P J Abdul Kalam to take a concrete action against people who are targeting 'Secular' citizens of the country like Mahesh Bhatt. Meanwhile police claim that gangster Ravi Pujari who was behind this incident made a narrow escape from Mangalore a couple of days ago before he could be nabbed.
Mahesh Bhatt on his part made a strong defense in India TV's 'Janta Ki Adalat' where he challenged anyone to give a single proof of his links with the underworld. He also expressed shock that the media gave so much of space to the small time gangster on National TV as he was after nothing but publicity so that he can extort money from others. Congress MP Priya Dutt expressed her absolute solidarity with Bhatt Sahab as he lives in her constituency. She promised thorough enquiry into the whole incident so that nobody dares to spread its tentacles in the Bollywood.
In an episode related with underworld, the intelligence officials have come out with a revelation that dreaded Don Dawood Ebrahim's wife Mehjabeen attended the recently concluded IIFA Awards in Dubai with two children of Dawood's right hand man Chota Shakeel. According to Intelligence reports six actors paid their obeisance to Don's wife at the function. MusicMazaa will be the first to let you know the names as and when they are disclosed. Till that time, Mahesh Bhatt and his ilk should do more for cleaning up the Bollywood-Underworld bonded-at-the-Umblical-Chord relationship.
