The films on native culture and festivals are very rarely attempted on Kannada screen. Now producers R.P. Patil and B.V. Venkatesh, in association with director Maharudra Godachi as one of the producers, are trying out a new style of love story with the background of Dasara festivals.
The custom of exchanging 'Banni' leaves during Dasara festival will be prominently featured in the love story. The exchange of 'Banni' leaves between two persons is done to put the hatred aside. It has been effectively practiced even among the enemies. Keeping this traditional value as the theme, director Maharudra is also showcasing the significance of 'Panchami Habba' festival (to highlight brother - sister relationship) celebrated in the Uttar Karnataka region.
There is comedy, love and vengeance too in this film. Srikanth, who worked in the camp of famous director T.S. Nagabharana, provides the technical guidance for the film.
Sowmya who hails from Gadag district is renamed as Kasturi and plays the female lead. She is studying Diploma in Computer science from Anjuman College. Chandrasekhar from Lakkundi village hotelier by profession is playing the grand father role of 'Mallathajja'.
The storyline goes like this: Three boys Seena, Rammi and Soori (Akul Balaji Master Anand and Srinivas) come to the village and they forget the city life. In the later half of the film they find some astonishing developments in the village.
Ashwath Ninasam, a powerful actor, is playing a prominent role. Akul Balaji who acted in Hindi films 'Vaastav' and 'Aadmi' plays a vital role. Veteran actress on stage and popular supporting actress Kishore Ballal is impressed with the young team of Banni. She is playing the mother to one of the three heroes. Abdul Rehman Pasha and Srinivasa are also in the cast.
Leo, who hails from Chennai, scores music. He has so far scored music for three Tamil films. This is his second film in Kannada, the first one being 'Sneha Parva'.
