Chhatisgarh former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi on Tuesday announced his new political party. After considering various names suggested by his supporters, He announced 'Chhatisgarh Janata Congress' as the party name.
Ajit Jogi resigned to Congress party recently. His Wife Renu and Son Amith were Congress legislators in Chhatisgarh. Mr. Jogi have the support of his wife, son, one more legislator and few other Congress Leaders.
This announcement came as a mighty blow to Congress Party. The National party has faced similar revolts from party leaders in the past as well. Walking out of Congress, Saradh Pawar floated NCP in Maharashtra, Mamata Banerjee launched TMC in West Bengal and YS Jagan started YSRC in Andhra Pradesh. Ajit Jogi's move i. an indication that Congress has weakened further after NDA came to power under Narendra Modi's leadership.
